Surgery: Round 2

I found out today that I need to go in for another surgery and soon. Sadly I will have to quit school so I can undergo my surgery and recover. Well I’m not really “quitting” school, I’m putting school on hold until next February when I can pick up where I left off. I plan to get better and get a job by then. Crossing my fingers. Wish me luck and a speedy recovery!

Every Day Makeup For School

As a cosmetology student, my class and I are required to work on our professional image as we go to school to we are prepared when we start our lives after. For us, this includes wearing makeup every day.
Considering that I have to wear makeup every day for school, I figured might as well go the little extra mile right? So I played with a few looks before I settled on a nice soft neutral look. This is the makeup I put on when I don’t want to deal with liquid liner. That’s a whole nother ball game. lol
This is what I used:
 -L.A. Colors 12 color Pallet - Trendy
-NYC IndividualEyes  Pallet - Centeral Park for Green eyes
-CoverGirl Clean pressed powder Compact - Ivory
-Revlon LashPotion mascara - Black
-Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Blushing Nude
-CoverGirl TruConceal Concealer – Fair
- Jordana Eyeliner pencil - Black

I Started Classes

I just realized how long it has been since I last posted anything. It has been FOREVER! I have just been so busy and with my classes starting, it had completely slipped my mind and I am so sorry x.x
In class we are supposed to work on our professional image and ad cosmetology students, this means we have to wear perfectly applied makeup, perfectly styled hair and well groomed manicured nails so I’m getting a haircut soon and a set of acrylics. I think im good on the makeup though. =)

I have quite a drive to class so I’m going to start a video segment on my YouTube account and I’ll try to post weekly. I already filmed a few times in the car but I couldn’t find a good balance of the air and music for the car ride to it came out cruddy not to mention my phone mount wasn’t tight enough and shook too much while I was filming.

Class so far has been pretty fun. Lots of book work for right now since we are still just starting out a lot of disease control and science right now. We have been working on our heads though. I have given Zoey 2 haircuts and a few styles including French braids and curls. We have even gone a scalp treatment on her and learned about relaxation massages to do while shampooing. XD

We have been taking LOTS of tests so far and I have been doing awesome on all of them I have an A for the class!!! IRSC has this awesome thing called Blackboard. It’s online and there is an app too. I’m in love with it. Our quizzes are on it, pdfs of chapter outlines and up to date grades. Its super helpful for staying on track and I can work on my tests and study anywhere I go by just using my tablet.

Speaking of my tablet, I need a new case. And since I’m replacing my case anyway, I figured I might as well look for a case with an attached keyboard so I can take better notes since my hand writing is chicken scratch.

Oh Yeah, My Hair Is Black Now

Sooooooooooo, I dyed my hair black. My roots were so dark and there was about two inches of growth. I decided I should just cover it up rather than bleach my roots to be blonde. It was at such a healthy state and I didn't want to fry my hair again so black seemed like the better option. Dark brown would have just looked muddy on me.

I like how the black looks on me. I HATE  the dye we used though. Milissa did it for me and we used L'oreal Preference Mousse Absolute color #100 Deep Black. The shtick for this particular line is that there is a special applicator that mixes the step one and step two compounds together as you dispense so when you are done, none is wasted. Than and there is even extra,
enough for two applications for those with short hair, and an application and a touch up for longer hair. yeah well that's bull. There wasn't even enough to cover all of my hair and its not even long. the parts that didn't get color ended up looking kind of like highlights but I'm probably going to go back and fix it later.

I give it 4/10.
